About Double-Wide Homes
Double-wides are built in two sections at the factory and joined on-site — giving you a floor plan that’s hard to distinguish from a site-built home at a fraction of the cost. Most run 24 to 32 feet wide and anywhere from 1,100 to 2,400+ square feet, with layouts that include full-size kitchens, primary suites, split bedroom configurations, and real living room square footage.
If you’re choosing between single-wide and double-wide, width is usually the deciding factor. A double-wide at the same bedroom count opens up open-concept common spaces and room sizes that a single-wide can’t match. Most families with children, buyers who work from home, or anyone prioritizing long-term livability end up here.
Financing follows the same paths as most manufactured homes — chattel for placement on leased or family land, land-and-home or conventional if you’re buying land together.
4-Bedroom Homes at Braustin
Four bedrooms means a primary suite, rooms for the kids, and still space left for an office or a dedicated room for extended family. Most of Braustin’s 4-bedroom floor plans are double-wide configurations running 1,400–2,000+ square feet, typically with split layouts that put the primary suite on one end and the remaining rooms on the other.
Pricing starts in the mid-$70,000s and runs into the low $100,000s depending on size and builder. If you own land or are buying land and a home together, you may qualify for a conventional mortgage at this price point — which means better rates and a longer term than a chattel loan. Worth asking about before you decide how to finance.
About TRU Homes
TRU Homes builds exclusively for Braustin-affiliated dealers — which means you won’t find this floor plan lineup at other retailers. Their catalog runs from the Mini series (tiny homes starting under 400 sq ft) through the Origin and Glory lines covering single-wide and double-wide configurations, and is built to balance quality construction with accessible pricing.
For buyers new to manufactured housing, TRU is often the strongest starting point: well-proportioned layouts, transparent pricing, and designs that run modern without the premium price tag. The fact that they’re Braustin-exclusive also means the team knows this product line inside out.
Buying in Louisiana
Braustin serves Louisiana buyers from Bossier City and Shreveport through Lake Charles, Lafayette, and the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas. The full buying process is online, and delivery logistics are handled by Braustin’s team from order through setup at your site.
FHA and chattel financing are both commonly used in Louisiana markets and both available through Braustin’s lending partners. If you’re not sure which loan type fits your situation, the financing page breaks down every option available to manufactured home buyers.
Why Buy From Braustin?
Braustin carries hundreds of manufactured homes from the industry’s most trusted builders — with upfront pricing, financing options for most credit profiles, and delivery and setup across Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
Most buyers finance. If you’re not sure what your options are, the financing page breaks down every loan type available for manufactured home buyers — chattel, FHA, VA, land-and-home, and more — so you can walk into any lender conversation knowing what to ask.
A housing consultant is available to walk you through models, pricing, or financing specifics for your situation. There’s no pressure and no obligation.
