Our very own Alberto Piña was recognized at an event this week and has been featured in a special publication. As a bonus for our readers, we wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look into his interview as a thank you for your continued support for our virtual mobile home dealership throughout the years.
40 Under 40 Interview by San Antonio Business Journal
Q. Where do you see yourself in five years?
A. Five years from now I’m fortunate to still be a part of Braustin Homes. By then we have become the market leader in Texas for factory-built housing and pushed into six other states. We’ve helped thousands of families become homeowners and some of the kids we helped to have their own room in the beginning are starting their families now and calling on us to build their first home.
Q. What is the biggest challenge you’ve encountered in your career?
A. The start of the pandemic was the scariest part of building Braustin. Several of our customers lost their jobs and the company lost over a million in sales over the first couple weeks because they had to put their dreams of homeownership on hold. Building a company during the last couple years has had its share or twists and turns, but we have been fortunate to surround ourselves with a solid team that pulled together to come out stronger after it all.
Q. What motivates you?
A. Being part of a company that was able to create jobs when people needed them most while helping others in our communities achieve their dream of homeownership is special. My kids have grown up with the company so it’s even more special to share this journey with my wife and them.
Q. What is your favorite San Antonio activity?
A. I love fishing the San Antonio River by the missions. It feels like being transported back in time and there are some good size bass in there.
Q. What is a favorite hobby or pastime?
A. Wade fishing the Hill Country rivers.
Q. What is your favorite rock band?
A. Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Q. What’s the best concert you’ve attended?
A. Jason Aldean.
Q. What was the first concert you ever attended?
A. Kenny Chesney.
Q. What is your go-to song?
A. “Living the Doublewide Dream”
